In this highly specialised role, you'll work closely with <b>Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians</b> to provide <b>high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging</b>, detailed fetal assessments, and <b>exceptional care to high-risk obstetric patients</b>. <br><br> What We're Looking For: <ul><li> <b>Education: Associate degree -</b> 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Graduate of AMA approved ultrasound program, ARDMS certified. </li><li> <b>Experience:</b> One year Ob/Gyn experience preferred. </li><li> <b>Licensure/Certification:</b> RDMS, OB required. NT Certification preferred. </li><li> <b>Additional skills required:</b> <ul><li> Must be NT certified within first year of employment. </li><li> Must have current BLS certification upon hire and maintain throughout employment as required by department. </li><li> Must maintain ARDMS certification. </li><li> Excellent communication skills required. </li><li> Working knowledge of various ultrasound devices. </li><li> Must have ability to independently obtain high quality images needed to assist MFM physician with diagnosis. </li><li> Perform high-level sterilization according to Clinical Compliance standards following each exam. </li><li> Ability to successfully complete departmental and organizational skills validation and competencies as required. </li></ul></li><li> <b>Additional skills required:</b> <ul><li> Able to perform independently to obtain high quality images and advanced Doppler techniques. </li><li> Able to assist MFM physician with complex procedures. </li><li> Ability to put patient at ease during ultrasound(s) and procedure(s). </li><li> Reconciles patient's medical and prenatal history, current medications, medication allergies etc. </li><li> Demonstrate willingness to be flexible as needed to accomplish departmental needs and goals. </li></ul></li></ul> What You'll Do: <b> Clinical Imaging & Procedure Support</b> <ul><li> Independently perform detailed OB/GYN and high-risk ultrasounds using advanced Doppler and imaging techniques. </li><li> Support physicians with ultrasound guidance during complex maternal-fetal procedures including amniocentesis, CVS, and fetal interventions. </li><li> Critique and analyse images for quality and diagnostic value; repeat studies as necessary. </li></ul> <b> Documentation & Reporting</b> <ul><li> Accurately document patient prenatal history, current medications, and allergies. </li><li> Ensure appropriate consents are obtained prior to procedures. </li><li> Complete all EMR documentation and maintain required procedural logs. </li></ul> <b> Room & Equipment Preparation</b> <ul><li> Sterilise ultrasound probes per Novant Health's Clinical Compliance protocols. </li><li> Disinfect and reset rooms between patients, ensuring all linens and supplies are replenished. </li><li> Verify equipment readiness and perform quality control as needed. </li></ul> <b> Patient Interaction & Human Experience</b> <ul><li> Explain procedures and findings in clear, compassionate language; use teach-back techniques to confirm understanding. </li><li> Create an atmosphere that calms anxiety and earns patient trust, especially for those navigating high-risk pregnancies. </li><li> Keep patients informed of visit timing, delays, and follow-up steps. </li><li> Recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of each patient, modelling inclusion and empathy. </li></ul> <b> Team Collaboration & Professionalism</b> <ul><li> Communicate effectively with MFM physicians, nurses, and fellow sonographers. </li><li> Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to assist across the team to meet departmental goals. </li><li> Participate actively in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives. </li><li> Uphold and model Novant Health's mission, values, and <b>First Do No Harm</b> safety behaviours at all times. </li></ul><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?gv3MZzQopersEFQl6ggZyrzgizMyVQQrh" width="0" height="0" />
