Novant Health is seeking a <strong>Sonographer I</strong> who will play an essential role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging. This position supports physicians by preparing patients, operating ultrasound equipment, and producing accurate diagnostic images that guide clinical decisions.</p> <strong>What You'll Do</strong> <ul><li><p>Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and ensure comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout the exam.</p></li><li><p>Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound scans using established protocols while optimizing technical factors for accuracy and patient safety.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.</p></li><li><p>Modify care appropriately based on patient age, condition, and abilities.</p></li><li><p>Receive, interpret, document, and verify electronic, written, and verbal orders.</p></li><li><p>Evaluate images for quality, proper labeling, and accurate patient identification.</p></li><li><p>Ensure timely transfer of images and relevant clinical information to interpreting providers.</p></li><li><p>Identify, prepare, and administer contrast media or medications as prescribed; perform venipuncture when required.</p></li><li><p>Utilize EMR, RIS, and PACS systems efficiently and accurately.</p></li></ul> <strong>Qualifications</strong> <strong>Education</strong> <ul><li><p>Graduate of an <strong>ARRT-approved</strong> Radiography or Sonography Program; or a <strong>CAAHEP-accredited</strong> Sonography Program - <em>Required</em></p></li><li><p>Associate Degree - <em>Preferred</em></p></li></ul> <strong>Experience</strong> <ul><li><p>1 year of sonography experience - <em>Preferred</em></p></li><li><p>Must meet Life Support Training requirements per policy NH-HR-3096.</p></li></ul> <strong>Licensure / Certification</strong> <p><em>Varies by location; all routes require certification and registration in Sonography (ARRT RT(S) or ARDMS):</em></p><ul><li><p><strong>Medical Center:</strong> RT(S) or ARDMS certification required within <strong>6 months</strong> of hire</p></li><li><p><strong>IDTF / Hospital Outpatient:</strong> RT(S) or ARDMS - <em>Required</em></p></li><li><p><strong>Medical Group Office:</strong> RT(S) or ARDMS - <em>Required</em></p></li></ul> <strong>Why Join Novant Health?</strong> <p>At Novant Health, we believe in creating an environment where every team member feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow.
