You'll use your technical expertise, attention to detail, and patient-centered communication to deliver high-quality images that guide our providers' care decisions.</p><p></p><p>This PRN role is perfect for a skilled sonographer who enjoys flexibility while maintaining a high level of clinical excellence.</p><p></p> What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) <ul><li>Capture, evaluate, and verify <b>clear, accurate diagnostic images</b> before submission for interpretation</li><li>Prepare, position, and support patients throughout the procedure, ensuring safety and comfort</li><li>Review and document patient orders, contrast details, and patient responses before, during, and after imaging</li><li>Observe patients closely and use appropriate immobilization or transfer devices when needed</li><li>Manage and organize images within <b>PACS</b></li><li>Monitor, maintain, and clean ultrasound equipment; report any unsafe or malfunctioning conditions</li><li>Submit supply/equipment requests and follow them through resolution</li><li>Lead and support <b>quality improvement projects</b>, keeping program documentation organized and up to date</li><li>Support student clinical rotations (if applicable)</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned to ensure optimal patient care and department flow</li></ul><p></p> Qualifications Minimum Requirements <ul><li><b>Education:</b> Graduate of an accredited School of Sonography <b>OR</b> on the job training by a registered Cardiac Sonographer</li><li><b>Licensure:</b> State licensure (if required by state of practice)</li><li><b>Certifications:</b><ul><li>ARDMS (RDCS) <b>or</b> CCI (RCS)</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS)</li></ul></li></ul><p></p> Preferred Skills & Experience <ul><li>Strong knowledge of high-quality diagnostic imaging and troubleshooting technical abnormalities</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex clinical protocols</li><li>Professional, compassionate communication with patients and clinical teams</li><li>Ability to thrive in a <b>fast-paced, collaborative</b> environment</li><li>Proficiency with ultrasound equipment, emergency procedures, and radiation safety</li><li>Flexibility and strong problem-solving abilities</li></ul><p></p> Physical Requirements <ul><li>Ability to push, pull, or lift <b>50 lbs regularly</b></li><li>Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift</li><li>Ability to bend, twist, grip, kneel, reach, and squat</li></ul><p></p> <b>Why Mercy?</b> <p></p><p>From day one, Mercy offers outstanding benefits - including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition support, and matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period.</p><p></p><p>Join a caring, collaborative team where your voice matters.
