Candidates without this experience will not be considered. </strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Onsite Position - Not Remote or Hybrid </strong></p><p><br/></p><p>At Northern Illinois Hospice, the Revenue Cycle Accountant is responsible for managing hospice and palliative care billing with a strong emphasis on Room & Board reimbursement. This is a high-accountability, detail-intensive healthcare revenue cycle position requiring independent problem-solving and strong regulatory knowledge.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred</li><li>2+ years of health care Room & Board billing experience required</li><li>Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing in an assisted living or skilled care facility, preferred</li><li>ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS proficiency</li></ul><p> If you do not have direct healthcare Room & Board billing experience, please do not apply. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Revenue Cycle Accountant Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Manage the revenue cycle for hospice and palliative care, including collections, cash posting, and AR</li><li>Prepare, submit, research, and resolve claims with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers</li><li>Research denials, submit appeals, and resolve underpayments</li><li>Monitor AR aging, unbilled claims, and accounts over 90 days</li><li>Produce monthly revenue and AR reporting </li><li>Ensure compliance with hospice, Medicare, HIPAA, and payer regulations</li><li>Reconcile EMR and accounting systems and maintain audit-ready records</li><li>Respond to patient and family billing inquiries with professionalism and care</li></ul><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><ul><li>100% onsite position (not eligible for remote or hybrid work)</li><li>Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 4:45pm </li><li>Collaborative, mission-driven environment</li></ul><p><strong>Pay & Benefits</strong></p><p>The Revenue Cycle Accountant salary range is $47,000 - $67,988, based on experience and education, plus a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, company-paid life and disability insurance, and a 401(k) with match.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Ready to Apply?</strong></p><p>If you're a Revenue Cycle Accountant who wants purpose, stability, and growth, this role is for you.
