Additionally, the Behavioral Health Technician provides client supervision and staff/unit support as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Operations.</p><p><strong>Behavioral Health Technician Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>Client Interaction & Support:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and maintain professional, supportive relationships with clients and staff.</li><li>Provide emotional support, encouragement, and guidance to clients and their families.</li><li>Support clients' comfort and safety in the residential environment.</li><li>Listen attentively, document client behavior, and report observations to clinical staff.</li><li>Maintain strict client confidentiality at all times.</li></ul><p><strong>Clinical & Administrative Tasks:</strong></p><ul><li>Collect and supervise urine analysis (U/A) testing, ensuring proper reporting, documentation in the EMR, and disposal of samples.</li><li>Observe self-administration of medication and document thoroughly.</li><li>Document all medications in the hardcopy Centrally Stored Medication Log and the EMR.</li><li>Complete intake assessments and consents with clients.</li><li>Conduct patient rounds every 30 minutes.</li><li>Complete vital signs (blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, pulse, respiration). </li><li>Complete contraband searches and random room searches.</li></ul><p><strong>Group & Activity Facilitation:</strong></p><ul><li>Facilitate groups, outings, and educational sessions.</li><li>Transport clients to meetings and appointments.</li></ul><p><strong>Team Collaboration & Communication:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide crisis intervention and promote a healthy residential and working environment.</li><li>Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and ethical standards.</li><li>Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>What You'll Bring:</strong></p><p><strong>Behavioral Health Technician Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Knowledge of the philosophy and approach of the 12-step model of recovery (AA, CA, NA, Alanon). </li><li>Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality.</li><li>Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health records (EHR) systems.</li><li>Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers, clinical staff, and administration to deliver high-quality care.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational and time-management skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Behavioral Health Technician Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Current and valid certification as a SUDRC (Substance Use Disorder Registered Counselor) or RADTI (Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician).</li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred.</li><li>Current CPR and First Aid Certification. </li><li>Successful completion of Pre-Employment Requirements including, a criminal background clearance, drug testing, and health screening, is mandatory prior to employment.</li></ul><p><strong>About Hillside Mission:</strong></p><p>At Hillside Mission, we believe in fostering a culture of compassion, innovation, and excellence.
