The Associate Chief of Specialty Care is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the oversight and advancement of specialty clinical services at VA Central California. You will work closely with the Chief of Specialty Care, clinical section chiefs, multidisciplinary providers, and administrative teams to ensure outstanding delivery of specialty care across the continuum. This highly visible role offers robust responsibility in clinical operations, provider management, quality improvement, and strategy development.

Role Overview:

As Associate Chief of Specialty Care, you will:

  • Assist in overseeing all specialty outpatient and consultative services, including but not limited to cardiology, oncology, nephrology, dermatology, neurology, and more.

  • Provide clinical leadership and administrative support for effective operation of specialty clinics.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor best practices and process improvements to enhance care quality, access, and outcomes.

  • Collaborate with section chiefs and staff to achieve high standards in patient safety, satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of specialty care staff.

  • Play an active role in continual quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics.

  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans for service line growth and resource allocation.

  • Promote and maintain a culture of teamwork, communication, and respect throughout specialty services.

  • Serve as a clinical resource, providing guidance and peer support as appropriate.
