We offer end-to-end solutions-from design and installation to ongoing maintenance and emergency support-<strong>helping clients maximize building performance, energy efficiency, and equipment lifespan</strong>.</p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>The HVAC Service Technician supports <strong>mission-critical data centers</strong> across the U.S., performing troubleshooting, repairs, start-ups, and preventive maintenance on cooling systems and supporting equipment. You'll work safely, travel frequently, and deliver uptime-focused service while documenting work in our field system and coordinating with site operations.</p><p></p><p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p><ul><li><p>Diagnose, repair, and maintain <strong>CRAC/CRAH units</strong>, <strong>chilled water</strong>/glycol systems, DX/split/RTU equipment, pumps, heat exchangers, VFDs, and associated controls.</p></li><li><p>Perform <strong>PMs</strong>, start-ups, and commissioning checks; verify operation against <strong>manufacturer specs</strong> and site SLAs for temperature/humidity and <strong>hot aisle/cold aisle</strong> containment.</p></li><li><p>Execute refrigeration procedures (recover, evacuate, weigh-in charge; superheat/subcooling); perform leak/pressure tests and document readings.</p></li><li><p>Basic electrical troubleshooting for HVAC (contactors/relays, motors, capacitors, control circuits; 120-480V, 1Ø/3Ø) in compliance with code and site rules.</p></li><li><p>Work with <strong>BMS/EMS</strong> to monitor trends, alarms, and setpoints; coordinate with facility ops during maintenance windows, change controls, and <strong>LOTO</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Use mobile work order software to <strong>document diagnoses, parts, labor, photos, and recommendations</strong> in real time; communicate status to dispatch/PM and customer.</p></li><li><p>Support on-call rotations and after-hours/emergency response as scheduled.</p></li><li><p>Follow safety procedures (LOTO, arc-flash awareness <strong>NFPA 70E</strong>, fall protection, confined space, rooftop safety); maintain clean, organized job sites and vehicles.</p></li><li><p>Mentor junior technicians and interface professionally with customers and vendors.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>What You'll Bring (Minimum Qualifications)</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>2+ years</strong> <strong>commercial/industrial HVAC service</strong> experience (data center/mission-critical preferred).</p></li><li><p><strong>EPA Section 608</strong> certification (<strong>Type II or Universal</strong>).</p></li><li><p>Strong troubleshooting skills in refrigeration and air systems; able to read <strong>schematics, wiring diagrams, and O&M manuals</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Comfortable with laptops/tablets, digital gauges, and mobile work order apps.</p></li><li><p>Valid <strong>driver's license</strong> and insurable <strong>MVR</strong>; able to fly/travel Nationwide frequently.</p></li><li><p>Physical ability to lift <strong>50+ lbs</strong>, work at heights/rooftops and in mechanical spaces, and tolerate seasonal temperatures.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Nice to Have (Preferred)</strong></p><ul><li><p>Prior <strong>data center</strong> experience (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water plants, white-space operations).</p></li><li><p><strong>OSHA-10</strong> (or ability to obtain within 30 days).</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with <strong>BMS</strong> platforms (e.g., Johnson, Honeywell, Trane, Schneider).</p></li><li><p><strong>NATE</strong> certification; chiller/boiler/hydronics and <strong>VFD</strong> experience.</p></li><li><p>Basic understanding of UPS/generator interfaces and change-management windows.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Competitive salary based on experience.</p></li><li><p>Health, dental, and vision insurance.</p></li><li><p>Paid time off and holiday pay.</p></li><li><p>Opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Equal Employment Opportunity:</strong></p><p>Upchurch Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
