Junior Tax Accountant

Job Description

LHH is assisting a client with their need for a Junior Tax Accountant. This is a terrific opportunity to join a small team and a growing company. This is a hybrid opportunity in south Charlotte. Please read on for more details.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and support the filing of sales tax, property tax, and income tax returns.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain financial data and tax records needed for compliance and reporting.
  • Assist with tax account reconciliations and review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor filing calendars and help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Research basic tax questions and assist in resolving notices, discrepancies, and routine tax issues.
  • Work with internal departments to gather information required for tax filings and audits.
  • Support tax audits, registrations, and other compliance-related projects as needed.
  • Help identify process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy within the tax function.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • Internship experience in accounting or tax, or 1-2 years of relevant accounting or tax experience required.
  • Basic understanding of tax principles and accounting concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with multi-state tax compliance is a plus.
  • Exposure to ERP systems or tax software is preferred.
  • Interest in developing a career in corporate tax or indirect tax.
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
