Description
:Laboratory students receive instruction to perform tests on blood and body fluids to determine the presence or absence of disease, monitor response to treatment and aid in health maintenance under supervision of Medical Technologists/Medical Laboratory Technicians and the program director. Students perform testing as they demonstrate competence and may work independently once they have completed individual rotations. Responsible to recognize and use critical thinking to determine results which may require additional review by certified staff.Education:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience:
Preferred: 1 Year experience in a laboratory or in medical training
Skills:
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management. Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication
Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills
