About this Job: <p><strong> General Summary of Position</strong></p><p> </p><p>MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, the region's largest acute rehab hospital, is seeking an <strong>experienced nurse leader</strong> to serve as Nursing Director for our <strong>Spinal Cord Injury and Orthopedic </strong><strong>Unit</strong> within a leading <strong>acute rehab</strong> setting. This role provides <strong>operational</strong><strong> </strong>oversight of a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. You will partner with interdisciplinary teams to drive innovation and uphold the highest standards of rehabilitative care.</p><p>If you are a strategic leader passionate about advancing patient care in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply.</p><p><strong>Minimal Qualifications</strong><br /><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required</li><li>Master's degree in Nursing or health related field from a nationally accredited program preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li>5-7 years in Nursing or health related field from a Nationally accredited program required</li><li>1-2 years of management and leadership experience preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Licenses and Certifications</strong></p><ul><li>RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required</li><li>CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required</li><li>Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.</li><li>C-EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) is required for Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery antepartum antenatal testing) within 12 months from date of hire. New graduate nurses or new to specialty nurses (labor and delivery antepartum antenatal testing) will have 15 months from date of hire to obtain the EFM certification.</li><li>Specialty certification from a nationally recognized nursing organization in either his/her clinical specialty or Nursing Administration within 2 years required</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge Skills and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment on highly complex situations.</li><li>Verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Basic knowledge of various computer software applications and online learning applications especially Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Our founding credo is "Adding Life to Years ."
