Pathology Physician

Assignment Details:

• Location: Syracuse, New York
• Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Assignment Length: 3 6 months
• Call: None
• Start Date: Upon credentialing (estimated days)
• Rate: Competitive daily rate (please submit best rate)

Practice Setting:

• Hospital-based pathology laboratory
• Team includes 4 Pathologists, 5 Histotechnologists, 1
• Pathology Assistant, and 2 Cytotechnologists
• Other pathologists will be present during coverage

Responsibilities:

• General Anatomic Pathology
• Surgical Pathology
• Frozen Section Analysis
• Cytology interpretation
• Grossing of specimens
• Cutting frozen sections on cryostat

Annual Case Volume:

• 13,000 surgical pathology specimens
• 3,000 cytology specimens

Equipment & Systems:

• ThinPrep Integrated Imager (Hologic)
• Cryostat: Avantik QS12UV / Avantik QS II
• Microscopes: Nikon Eclipse E400, Olympus BX41
• EMR: EPIC / Beaker

Lab Certifications:

• CLIA
• NYS

Requirements:

• Board certified in anatomic pathology.
• Active New York State Medical License
• NPDB Self-Query report (pulled within the same month as submission)
• Willing to complete the required cytology proficiency exam for GYN cytology

• No supervision of other healthcare providers required
