Urologic Oncologist (Fellowship-Trained)

The Allina Health Cancer Institute (AHCI) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is seeking a fellowship-trained Urologic Oncologist to join our growing and highly collaborative program.

Practice Details:
Join a team of 3 Urologic Oncologists and 1 Advanced Practice Provider
Access to advanced technology, including Focal One Robotic HIFU and BK ultrasound for use in clinic and the operating room
Practice in a state-of-the-art surgical environment at the new Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center, featuring 30 advanced operating rooms and infrastructure designed to support rapidly evolving medical technology
Utilize artificial intelligence tools to support documentation, charting, and supporting cancer diagnosis and treatment
Collaborate within a systemwide oncology team of 100+ providers, spanning surgical oncology specialties, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and supportive/affiliated oncology services
Practice & Program
Hybrid Academic-Community ("Privademic") model combining academic-level medicine with community access and efficiency
18 comprehensive cancer care locations across Minnesota and western Wisconsin
Program accreditations include ACS, CoC, NAPBC, and APEx,
Research & Clinical Trials
Our own multi-center research program, including investigator-initiated, industry-sponsored, and cooperative-group clinical trials (Phase I-3)
Clinical Responsibilities
o Conducts patient consultations, assessments; educate patients and families regarding urologic cancers and treatment options.
o Detects and treats cancers of the urinary tract and male reproductive organs, such as bladder, prostate, kidney, testicular cancer, penile cancer and other therapeutic approaches.
o Prescribes and administers treatments, including certain chemo/immuno therapies hormonal therapies and other targeted therapies; monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
o Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including general surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, urologists, general surgeons, and primary care physicians.
o Facilitates patient access to medical care through appropriate referrals; Foster collaborative relationships with referring providers, within and outside, Allina to ensure optimal patient care and further development of the service line.
o Engages in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in the field
o Remains informed about clinical trial opportunities and willing to partake in clinical trials and research initiatives as deemed appropriate.
o Contributes to the development of clinical guidelines and best practices through committee involvement and quality and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
Completion of Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
Completion of urology residency and board eligible/board certified in Urology
Completed an SUO or other accredited fellowship/advanced training in Urologic Oncology
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record
Robotic training and experience
Licenses/Certifications
Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
? BLS certification from the American Heart Association
? BLS certification from the American Red Cross
? Allina in-house BLS training (within 90 days of hire)
Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate required upon hire
Prescription Monitoring Program required upon hire
