Job Details
Are you a passionate Speech Pathologist with a knack for improving the lives of patients with communication disorders? We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a permanent position where you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of seasoned healthcare professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, voice, fluency, resonance, cognitive-communication, and oral/feeding/swallowing skills to identify areas of dysfunction or impairment.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for patients diagnosed with communication disorders, including dysphagia, motor speech disorders, and cognitive-communication disorders.
3. Provide therapy in receptive and expressive language, articulation and phonology, voice and resonance, and fluency to help patients improve their communication abilities.
4. Utilize AAC and assistive communication devices to facilitate communication for patients with severe speech/language impairments.
5. Educate patients and their families about communication disorders and available therapy options, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.
6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
7. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient services, including evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
Qualifications:
1. A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
2. A current state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Speech Pathologist, preferably in a healthcare setting.
4. Proven experience in dysphagia management, speech/language assessment, receptive & expressive language therapy, articulation & phonology, motor speech disorders, cognitive-communication therapy, voice & resonance therapy, fluency therapy, and AAC & assistive communication.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, their families, and team members.
6. A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to improving the quality of life for patients with communication disorders.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt treatment plans as needed to meet the unique needs of each patient.
8. Proficiency in electronic medical records and healthcare IT systems.
9. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
